When I woke up to pouring down rain the morning of their wedding, I didn’t panic. Not even a little bit, because if a rainy day was going to happen to anyone, it’s best to be this amazing, laid back couple. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more trust from any of my couples before. I can’t tell you how many times they said “Sure, whatever you want to do is great” “We trust you…whatever you think.” They are both easy going people and wanted an easy going day, and that’s sure what they got!
Nothing about this wedding day was traditional and that why I think I loved it so much. They didn’t care about flowers or big jewelry, they just did what they wanted, which was to celebrate their love together. After they both got ready and saw each other for the first time, we had about 4 hours to take photos of just the bride in groom before the family and wedding party met up with us. It was so much fun!
They worked together to design and make their invitations and they are phenomenal!
It was so rainy out, so we scrapped our original idea for their first look location and went with the front porch of her cousin’s house.
We drove from IL to St. Charles and the whole drive it was a monsoon but as soon as we arrived on Main Street, the rain let up and we had time to be outdoors.
We wanted to document the weather for their day…
This next series is my favorite…
I love this shot Tommy took…
One of my favorites and another shot by Tommy…
Bekah is not just a client…she’s my best friend’s little sister. I see so many similarities between them from their generous hearts to their fun sense of humor. Ben, you’re little sister is amazing!
It started to rain a bit again so we made our way over to Ameristar Casino. Photographers, if you’re ever in St. Charles and need a place to go during bad weather, this is the spot. The lighting looks so natural and there are so many fun places inside to shoot.
Oh Sophia Marie…you melt my heart. During the ceremony she was saying “Hey Lyns” “Hey Tommy” It was so sweet! She’s a doll!
Tommy took this sweet shot of them exchanging cards in the garden before the wedding ceremony
I’ve never done a ceremony at night time and it was so beautiful. When they did their bubble exit at the end of the ceremony, the bubbles almost look like snowflakes!
You two have been so amazing to work with. I am so fortunate to have been able to be there on your amazing wedding day. Thanks for letting me tell your story.
Lots of love and Cheers!
