St. Louis Shot Party|Recap

A few months ago, I came across Kelly Manno‘s blog where she hinted that something BIG was coming to St. Louis for photographers. Of course, I was excited but I had no idea what to expect when she said “big.” Well Kelly went big and got Jasmine Star to speak. Jasmine freaking Star! If you don’t know who she is, she is the biggest force in wedding photography. She only started her business a few years ago and is now a nationally recognized name in photography. And she’s funny. Like really, really funny. She has exceptional taste in music, which, honestly was how she originally won me over when I started following her blog a few years ago. I love her business sense and her writing is impecible. She’s absolutely wonderful to read.

So many people that I admire were at the party and I am so grateful to have had an opportunity to meet photographers that have been in the industry twice and even three times as long as I have. Onto the photos!

I sat in on lectures from Kelly Manno, Tonya Nickel, Kelly Park, Michelle Ross and Clary Pfeiffer. After that, we broke into groups and I was in the ever-fab Mrs. Clary Pfeiffer’s group to shadow her as she shot an adorable couple (and we got to shoot too!)

After we were done shooting, we ate dinner, grabbed a glass of wine and settled in the hear the headline speaker, Jasmine Star. I laughed, I teared up and I learned so much. Afterwards, my friend Trisha Seelen grabbed a quick photo of me and Jasmine Star.

I learned a lot about photography, running a business and most importantly, about myself. All day I was reassured that I am doing what I was meant to do in life, and folks, that honestly feels so good. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited to see what the future holds for me. Thanks for following me on this journey!

Cheers,
Lynsey
